Natural tiles (flooring) are best used where they can be tiled directly onto a firm and stable base. Concretes and screeds are ideal, plywood is another option provided it is at least 15mm thick and it is secured firmly every 150mm to prevent any movement.
Some natural tiles, particularly the travertine, may need to be 'back-filled' to achieve a solid bed fixing: please be aware of this! We would recommend using flexible adhesive/ grouts at all times.
